Mars

Mars at 11". This Surface details are beginning to become visible in the scope if not in the images yet. Opposition will be at 20" 29 Oct.

Albategnius and Hipparchus

Lunar terminator. The Moon was near First Quarter (40.5 percent illuminated, -11.7 magnitude). The craters Albategnius and Hipparchus were located on the terminator, with the prominent central peak of Albategnius just poking into the lunar dawn. Craterlets along the rim of Hipparchus were nicely illuminated for viewing, as this video capture image shows.
