Supernova 2006x in M100 Coma Berenices. This type 1a supernova in spiral galaxy M100 appears to have intensified compared to discovery photo. 2006:02:24 01:53:55 400mm 45 sec, f/2.8 Mode: Manual Metering: Evaluative ISO: 1600 AF mode: Manual Focus Drive: Continuous White balance: Auto Flash: Off File size: 3,257KB Image size: 3504 x 2336 Picture Effect: Normal

RS oph outburst 1744-06

Recurrent nova RS Ophiuchus. One of only seven known recurrent CV novae in a photo taken 11 days after the most recent outburst. It pops off about every 20 years, the most recent prior in 1985. Star is deeply red and still outshining Tyc5094-283-1 (Mag 9.31), the bright star to its four-o'clock in the image, and probably by a large margin considering the Canon 20D's lack of red sensitivity. 2006:02:24 04:33:05 400mm 30 sec, f/2.8 Mode: Manual Metering: Evaluative ISO: 1600AF mode: Manual Focus Drive: Continuous White balance: Auto Flash: Off  File size: 3,520KB Image size: 3504 x 2336 Picture Effect: Normal
